Loose and Loosa in Noosa

Noosa: 9-11th February

After my early night I wake after an eleven hour sleep, in other words heaven, man I love a good nights sleep. The morning follows suit: nice and easy – shower, pack and head to the train station where the group get breakfast. I get a breakfast burrito from GYG and am pleasantly surprised, it is not bad for a fast food brekkie wrap. Once we’ve all eaten we hop on the train that takes us to our coach, which heads up the east coast north to Noosa. Once we’ve all checked in and settled I head to the shops to buy a few bits, including, of course, a stop at Bottle’O to stock up on a few drinks, before returning to the hostel for a sausage sizzle bbq which I engulf in all the cheese and dips I bought earlier. After food we have a few drinks and most people slowly make their way to bed. However, Fiona, Dan, Aron and I decide to head out to a bar/club near by called KB’s. It is a club that is connected to a hostel a couple blocks away so is pretty lively and we have a good night filled with dancing and drinking. Two of my favourite things.

The next day my morning is vastly different from the one before. I wake up, after a not so great night’s sleep, feeling rather groggy and hungover. I drag myself into the shower and get ready for the nature walk we are going on. The group heads to Noosa National Park. The walk starts at Alexandria Bay up to and around Noosa Head to Hells Gate and to the Fairy Pools. The original plan was to take some time and have a dip in the pools at this point but, unfortunately, the weather and tides aren’t in a forgiving mood and the group decides it’s probably safer to give it a miss. Although I personally do my best to get into them, however, as I can’t see a way to get back out I finally concede that the group decision is right, it probably isn’t safe enough. Still, we have a little sit and manage to spot a few dolphins. Charlie has his drone out getting some good shots of the sea and waves. As we leave Charlie lands the drone on my out stretched hand as there isn’t a safe spot to land it on the rocks. After the walk Charlie, Matt and I head into town and go to Betty’s Burgers for lunch before heading back to the hostel on the bus. The group spend the afternoon playing in and around the pool with Spider, the Hostel’s resident dog, and on the floating beds the hostel have. The evening is Sangria and Nacho night at the hostel and the group have their fill before we all head back to KB’s where some of us had been the night before.

The next day was a chilled one. After waking up, showering and getting packed ready for later I spent most of the morning playing with Spider by the pool and even managed to get a blog written whilst I nursed another hangover. Later the group split to take the shuttle from the hostel to town. I manage to get on the first shuttle so I have a chance to go to the Bottle’O and stock up for our next adventure. The coach is taking us to Rainbow, but we are only going to be here for one night, because tomorrow we are heading to K’gari, more commonly know as Fraser Island. I am excited for the trip it should be fun and for those that know me well, know it is also my birthday tomorrow. As such when we get to Rainbow it is a fairly chilled evening, I treat myself to a disappointing microwave meal, although I believe the use of the word ‘disappointing’ is in vain, as I personally have yet to have a microwave meal that wasn’t disappointing. Anyway, it is an early night for most of us as we are up early tomorrow for the briefing before we head off to K’gari and thus ends another day in this adventure and my time being 26 years old.
